Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Compatibility
Sun times for mac. To clarify, QuickBooks for Mac 2016 206 R6 or later will only support Mac OS X v10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra), Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan), and Mac OS X v10.12 (Sierra). If you want to upgrade to Mojave OS 10.14, you'll need to have at least QuickBooks for Mac 2020 macOS 10.14 (Mohave). Yet a few posts on this site and elsewhere on the web claim that QuickBooks 2016 is NOT compatible with El Capitan in any of its incarnations (however it does work on my MacBook Air with OSX 10.11 and did work on my iMac with OSX 10.11, until I upgraded to 10.11.1) and that Intuit isn't bothering to fix that problem. QuickBooks for Mac 2016 is included with your QuickBooks ProAdvisor ® subscription. It will only run on Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite), or the soon-to-be released Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan).
